Birch Energy Co-op, "A Pioneer Species!"

     News

March 30, 2010 Information regarding run-of-river projects clearly indicates that the Hatfields guidelines for instream flow thresholds for fish and fish habitat for reviewing proposed water uses should be followed for any project constructed. These guidelines will thus be followed by Birch Energy Co-op if a run-of-river project was to be ever planned. More information on the Hatfield guidelines may be viewed here.

Jan 23, 2010 A recent media release (Dec 17, 09) endorsed by 26 top environmental organizations advocates a new way of clean renewable energy production; one that "limits environmental, social and economic impacts and maximizes public benefit." Birch Energy Co-op is fully aligned to these new recommendations, and guides to fully incorporate them into our business model. The media release may be viewed here.
